Q: Why do we get upset when someone passes away? Anandmurti Gurumaa: Because you are attached to that person and the rest which you have written about the atma & the other stuff, it is just a mumbo-jumbo for you. You do not know what atma is, whether it is mortal or not. It is just the attachment which gives you pain & you suffer because of that. Sometimes there is another level to it - you think that even you will pass away one day and that silent fear catches up and that gives you more pain.
