About the Album

"Mera Mann Laaga Hai Ram Pyare" is a soul-stirring Shabad composed by the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj. The eloquent composition aptly captures the glories of the revered Lord who, with his sheer grace, takes over a devotee's heart, reining in the five vices. These profound verses from Gurbani sung by Anandmurti G in her melodic voice speak of the eternal grandeur of the formless Supreme- the one that destroys fears and afflictions of those who seek refuge in the divine. Immersed in contemplation of the sublime, as a devotee gets one with the name of Lord, millions of sins get annihilated in a moment. Overcome with love for the divine, a devout sings praises, imploring grace and seeking protection in the sanctuary of the omniscient one. The color of the divine is undiscernible, and its form beyond perception; how can one contemplate the prowess of such a sublime existence? Dwelling in the state that is unfathomable, Lord flows through water, bears mountains, and also reigns over the lands and skies. The timeless Supreme is an immortal primal being who is the destroyer of the frivolous ego-self, and all revel in the glories of the cosmic sublime. Devout Nanak seeks refuge in the abode of the omniscient Lord, seeking shelter and protection as it pleases the divine. This eloquent composition by Guru Maharaj is sure to strike at the deepest core, saturating one's heart with eternal gratitude and devotion. Listen and sing along with great love, glorifying the Supreme and surrendering to the limitless, omniscient, unfathomable existence that dwells at the core of every being.
