This shabad of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji embodies deep love-full hymns for the Lord. The intense longingness to meet the Lord resonates in it; from a heart which is aching and paining, praying to Lord so as to get some relief by divine darshan. Sri Gurudev uses the analogy of a woman who is pining for her husband and wishes to meet him, yet feels inadequate to appease her husband. A devotee in intense dispassion, 'vairagya’ is crying to meet the Lord and seeking to prepare the mind, to makeit suitable for this divine union.
