Man runs all day long to earn a good living in pursuance of a good lifestyle. To dress good, to eat better and then travel around to the best of locations to make memorable travelogues. All of it does promise thrill, good moments and excitement yet what remains unattained? The money earned doesn’t promise lasting health, happiness or peace. It rather takes away the most precious state of a being- its sleep. Sleep that promotes holistic well being. Spending the whole day completing errands and rushing from one end to another where does one find the time to stop and even breathe mindfully? Similar hush and commotion is then carried over to the dream state. Filled with fear and palaver, such dreams impinge upon the state of sleep too. Apart from a contemporary lifestyle creating mental anxiety and emotional vacuum, disturbed sleep can be attributed to other factors as well. In accordance with the principles of āyurveda, high pitta in the body is one such factor. Hormonal imbalance is also a noted cause, particularly in women.
